Our Story

Pleasant Hill Community Alliance (PHCA ) began in 2022 when a few Pleasant Hill community members, inspired by the grassroots community participation of our neighbors in Concord Communities Alliance, decided to organize and make an impact. Our community movement challenges the status quo, holds city leaders accountable and advocates for solutions that will improve our community for all.

We challenge the notion that the way things are is the way things should always be, and are proud to be a force for positive transformation. Currently, PHCA is partnering with Contra Costa County community advocates who work to help ensure fair and legal elections. We support the California Voting Rights Act of 2001 and encourage the City of Pleasant Hill to move from at-large to by-district elections.
